Oh Yes I Will!!

Isaiah 15:13 “For you said to yourself,I will ascend to heaven and set my throne above God’s stars. I will preside on the mountain of the gods far away in the north.” 15:14 I will climb to the highest heavens and be like the Most High.” 15:15 ‘Instead you will be brought down to the dead, down to the lowest depths.”

Monday had come and gone and the statement and proclamation I had made to myself that I will get back to healthy eating and exercising on that day had not happened. I am confident that at some point in life all of us have become determined about something that we want to do or achieve in life. It can be things like weight loss, get out of debt, mend a relationship, move somewhere, stop a bad habit the list is long and personal. We really want it to happen. When we say it to ourselves, or if we are bold enough to say it others we 100% mean it. It truly is our will, and our hearts desire to make it come to be.

Yet, just like me, the day that we determined to start comes and goes, and if we do start we don’t see it through to victory. We can come with a multitude of reasonable explanations as to why. I did not have time, this event happened that was more pressing, it’s too hard, I was faced with too many temptations, again the excuse list is long and personal for each of us.

God does not want us to FAIL!! He does not want us to FAIL to start or to achieve or goals!! So what could be the disconnect? Why do new set dates, to start come and go and either, we do not start or we start but do not see it through to the finish or achieve or dreams? The above scripture verses 13 and 14 are the words that satan said. They all start with I WILL. In verse 15 we see God’s response of failure. Why would a loving God call out failure? It is important to remember that satan is one of God’s angels. He is a creature created by God. Although we are not and never will be angels, unlike angels we are created in God’s image and in the future will be higher then angels (1 Corinthians 6:3 “Do you not know that we will judge angels?” ) Satan’s desire is to separate us from God and the purposes and promises that we inherit because we are His children. God’s desire is for us to be humble to Him, to go to Him, and in doing so we gain His strength and His favor. I WILL statements are proud and boastful, showing and proclaiming that we can do it on our own. Look where that got satan, a great big FAIL!!! When we change our proclamations to God Will, He will rid of us our excuses ans give us victory. How? His word says that, in our weakness He is strong, He will go before us(so if it a relationship that He wants us to mend He will soften the other persons heart) He will make away, He will give us all that we need, no weapon forged against shall prosper and there are many more verse that state how with God we will have the victory !!

Want the victory? Give up the I WILL and proclaim GOD WILL!! There will still be work on your part, a big part of that will be continually going, in humility to God and listening for Him to direct you, praying for His strength often and asking for His favor. But with God all things are possible. He loves you and wants you to succeed.

  1. I really like this post, its changing habits and forging new, healthier ways of being. It often more power than just human will, often times when I have had to overcome really big challenges I rely heavily on Devine power for assistance.
